Suomy USA is proud to announce the signing of off-road racing legend Rodney Smith. Possibly the best all-around motorcycle racer America has ever produced, Rodney Smith has enjoyed success in all forms of competition during his distinguished career. Once a rising motocross star from Northern California, he found success racing in South America and Europe, including a Brazilian National Motocross Championship and a third-place finish in the 1988 FIM 250 World Motocross Grand Prix.

Smith returned to America and retired from motocross, but before long he found himself riding again, this time off-road for Team FMF Suzuki. Smith's off-road career has seen him amass as many titles and accolades as any rider in the sport's history, and he's still winning even in the face of younger competition--including a historic run for the 2004 GNCC title at age 40. Since then, Rodney has scaled his racing plans back a bit, and after injuries and some frustration, decided to transition into a part-time rider and full-time coach/advisor for the Suzuki GNCC effort. But he'll still do some racing, helping develop the all-new RM-Z250 for the woods in the XC2 class. Rodney’s career highlights: 5-time GNCC Bike Champion ('98, '99, '01, '02, '04); 1988 Brazilian National Motocross Champion, ISDE Gold Medalist, 3-Time AMA National Reliability Series Champion ('94, '96, '97); 5-Time AMA National Hare Scrambles Champion ('93, '94, '95, '96, '98)
